At a time when most IT professionals were grappling with the new realities of information technology in the early nineties and trying to understand its implications, Naveen Kapur was preoccupied with establishing one of India’s first multimedia teaching institutions in New Delhi. The universal debate had just begun. Is computer technology good for society? Does it take away jobs and replace human beings? Mainframes had arrived in India a log while back. It was now the age of the personal computer.
The Vision of Multimedia in India
Naveen Kapur envisioned the future of multimedia in the broader context of digital art and human expression that could be both segmented and targeted at a desired audience. He accurately forecast the pervasive nature of multimedia and showed his students and faculty how multimedia had the potential of redefining not only mainstream applications such as publishing, advertising and the broadcast media, but also fields such as 3D and 4D modeling, architecture, digital entertainment and even cinema.
An Educator’s Educational Background
Upon completing his undergraduate degree in India and a postgraduate qualification in Singapore, Mr. Kapur went on to pursue doctoral level research and study in multimedia science from Western International University, Florida. He founded Caba Multimedia Institute in 1993 where to this day India’s finest creative minds are taught to aspire for excellence in the discipline of multimedia, animation, graphics designing, web designing and electronic arts. Alumni from Caba Multimedia Institute currently provide corporate leadership at every major television channel in India along with a host of publishing conglomerates, digital production companies, the print media and the motion picture industry.

Naveen Kapur’s dossier and portfolio of successfully completed projects is too extensive to be cataloged here. It includes leading government organizations such as the Oil and Natural Gas corporation of India, Mahindra Defense Systems, Voltas Ltd. and American Express, a leading company in the global financial services sector.

Mr. Kapur’s interest and expertise in mainstream computer technology is diverse. He has developed many websites that rank #1 on Google’s search engine results. His advanced-level proficiency in search engine optimization and search engine marketing has won him many accolades and appreciation from all over the world. His full-length treatise on Adobe PhotoShop is considered to be a landmark work in the still evolving domain of photography and media.
